How does moving a site off a website builder work?
It depends on the site. For a simple one it takes three steps: check the URL for free, pay $99 once, then put the files on your own hosting and switch the domain when you're ready. Your old site stays live until then. If your site sells products, takes bookings, has member logins or runs a large blog or CMS, a simple copy won't carry those features, so staying on your builder is the better route.
Changing your site shouldn't mean logging into a builder or emailing a developer.
Once the files are yours, you ask the AI you already use. ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor. A free plan is often enough for small text edits.
